2ND FRIDAYS ART CRAWL - As Part of the Chicago Artist District 6pm-10pm
Bryan Sperry Studio: 1932 S. Halsted #503, Chicago, IL 60608 / SperryArt@gmail.com / 312-850-1017

BIOGRAPHY:
The art of Bryan Sperry depicts a theme of alienation throughout.  Strong lines evoke order.  Formulated, robotic and often industrial masks, figures and sculptures dominate the senses yet are slightly juxtaposed by a whimsical line, facial expression or gesture for human emphasis.  The combinations of these elements result in an expressionistic edginess and contemporary slant on truth and beauty.

Born in 1968, Bryan began painting at age 5 and has since created works of art with an impact.  His natural gift was recognized and encouraged by art professionals in Chicago.  As a passionate and driven artist from the renegade school of visual stimulation Sperry has become quite prolific and this can be seen in the hundreds of works he has created.  Bryans skills not only lye in abstract and figurative paintings but he also is quite accomplished in his creative found object sculptures.

Bryan founded several venues in Chicago that were cutting edge, visceral and well attended: Art Attack, Hep-House and Sperry Studio to name a few.  Bryan was also an original founder and enthusiast of Pilsen Art Nation which organized 2nd Friday art walk in Pilsen.

Bryan Sperry's latest project has been the Cool Globes, hot ideas for a cooler planet. The theme was based on saving the environment. Sperry's globes were based on recycling; titled Recycled Evolution 1 and 2. Sperry's globes are currently on tour throughout the U.S. look for them in San Francisco and Denver.
